Northern Ireland's first dedicated ecommerce event, eComm Live, took place in Belfast earlier this month and IRP Commerce threw its support behind the event as it is exactly what the local industry needs.

Ecommerce User Experience (UX) was delivered by Jill Robb of Origin Digital, How to Win in Ecommerce SEO was delivered by Barry Adams of Polemic Digital, Combining Pay Per Click & Conversion Rate Optimisation for Growth was delivered by Mark Lilley of Groundswell, Internationalising your Ecommerce Business was delivered by Pauline Thomson of DHL Express, The Power of Video when Growing your Ecommerce Business was delivered by Damien Gallagher of Speed Motion Films and The Rules of Marketing to the Machine was delivered by Neilson Hall of Omnicom Media.

Panel discussions with retailers and online service businesses highlighted that:

  • Having a differentiator is important, especially when trading online;
  • Speedy delivery is more of a priority for millennials than cost;
  • Using social media effectively can be achieved through a 'personal' touch and creating a brand persona;
  • Being the best at one thing is a better approach than trying to diversify and not being very good at any of them.

Daniel Loughlin, CEO of IRP Commerce, delivered a talk called How You Use AI To Turn Data Into Revenue. Daniel demonstrated the IRP Insights Terminal, showing how the software can find value in a company's data by uncovering negative and positive trading anomalies in order to deliver key actions that increase sales. The demonstration showed how the Insights Terminal turns data into information, information into actions, and actions into revenues. Daniel commented, “The future of commerce will be fought out on intelligent systems”.

Speaking after the conference, Daniel said, “The ecommerce industry in Northern Ireland needs more conferences like Ecomm Live. Providing industry expertise to answer the challenges online retailers face is the best way to improve the industry as a whole, as well as maximising collaboration, increasing the ecosystem and building awareness within the ecommerce industry. Collaboration is the key.”

“At IRP Commerce, we understand the importance of bringing together the best technology and the best people, so Ecomm Live provided the perfect venue for us to do this with our IRP platform and Insights Terminal. We are looking forward to the next one!”
