For the last eight months, IRP Commerce has been working with Microsoft Global Partner of the Year P2V Systems to build a secure and truly scalable ecommerce architecture.
Building infrastructure is a job that requires detailed and meticulous planning and this has been ongoing in the background to help ensure that the IRP can host any customer of any size.
We are making this investment in infrastructure essentially to future-proof the scalability, compliance and security of the award-winning IRP system.
Microsoft Azure Cloud
As the IRP software is both written in and utilizes Microsoft-based technologies, we decided that the Microsoft Azure Cloud is the natural long-term fit.
Microsoft’s Azure Cloud is designed for modern business and provides IRP customers with outstanding scalability, productivity, security and compliance.
We are going to move all IRPs onto the new infrastructure from Q1 2018. The benefits in terms of speed, resilience and fundamental scalability will be notable.
This will significantly improve the performance of — and the customer experience of — the IRP.
Chris McEldowney, VP Product for IRP Commerce says, “As standard, IRP Commerce has always provided a scalable and secure hosting solution to match client growth. Nonetheless, moving to the Azure Cloud will take us to the next level in terms of efficiency and will provide numerous enterprise-level performance and scalability advantages to our entire client base. This will be the culmination of many months of investment, planning, preparation and testing from our infrastructure team and we're extremely excited to see the impact when we launch on Azure early next year.”
Secure and Stable IRP Performance
The IRP has always been a very stable platform and is one of the few ecommerce platforms in the UK to have securely transacted over 1M GBP for a single customer in a 24 hour period.
There is a bright future for IRP performance based on Microsoft Azure’s almost unlimited processing and data-crunching power behind the system.
