Ecomm Live brought industry leaders to Belfast to talk about ecommerce

eComm Live 2023 took place in Belfast on 26th & 27th April with 50+ speakers from brands including Ryanair, Sculpted by Aimee, TikTok, IRP, Pinterest, Allbirds & more.

The event featured a jam-packed programme of activities including Training courses, Retail Tech Live, Women in eCommerce Networking Session, Social activities, a 3 Track Conference, Expo & Networking Lounge, as well as Opening & Closing Parties.

IRP Talk About "Merchant First" - Rebuilding Ecommerce Around Merchant Profit

Dan Loughlin gave a talk about putting profit at the centre of ecommerce. As Merchants pay everyone's bills, ecommerce needs to be rebuilt around the Merchant Owner.

The talk covered 3 steps to ecommerce profitability:

  • The maths behind ecommerce sales
  • The maths behind ecommerce profit
  • A Service Marketplace for performance and choice

IRP believes that through maths and a Service Marketplace all ecommerce problems can be substantially solved.

Conference Highlights Ecommerce Economic Report

eComm Live was also the perfect location to launch the new IRP funded report ‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ to the wider ecommerce community in Northern Ireland.

The report highlights the importance of ecommerce to the Northern Ireland economy.

Created in collaboration with economist Richard Johnston, the report estimates that by 2030, e-commerce could contribute £10 billion in gross value added (GVA) and support 180,000 jobs, which is equivalent to 17% of the total jobs in the region.

  • £6 Billion GVA added by Ecommerce
  • Jobs for regions
  • A growth sector and opportunity for Northern Ireland

Ecommerce is market that has been widely overlooked that potentially offers a big opportunity for Northern Ireland.

NI ECOMMERCE REPORT - HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT?

eComm Live will be back in 2024 on 1st & 2nd May 2024 at the Assembly Buildings Conference Centre & surrounding venues.
