You can find this section under Referrals > Referrals in the left navigation menu.
You use the Referrals page (Referrals.aspx) to view details of the referrals from domains that refer visitors to your website. You can also view details of referrals that did not result in an order on your site (these are referred to as ‘lost referrals’).
You can use the Search feature at the top of the page to search for referrals by domain. If you expand Other Options you can use the following filters:
- Date From: Use the calendar to select a start date.
- Date To: Use the calendar to select an end date.
- Exclude Known Referrers: Check this box to exclude all referrers that are known within the system. This allows you to find new referrals.
- Referrer: Select a referrer from the drop-down menu, or select All.
- Lost Referrals Only: Check this box if you want to find only referrals that did not result in an order.
The referrals are displayed in rows in the main grid, showing the following details:
- Country: The country where the referral traffic has come from.
- IP Address: The IP address of the device used by the referral traffic.
- Domain: The domain used by the referral traffic.
- Referrer: The name of the referrer.
- Orders Value: The value of the orders resulting from the referral.
- Referring URL: The URL of the referral.
- URL: The URL on your site that was referred.
- Search Terms: The search terms used in the referral.
- Partner: This indicates whether the referral came from one of your partners.
- Timestamp: The time that the referral traffic accessed your site.
To view lost referrals (referrals that did not result in an order), click the View Lost Referrals button above the Search bar.
To view referrers, click the View Referrers button above the Search bar. For more information, see the Referrers help topic.
Grouped Referrals
Click the View Grouped By Domain button at the top of the page to go to the ReferralsGrouped.aspx page where you can view referrals grouped by referring domain. The following details are displayed:
- ID: An ID number associated with the referral.
- Domain: The domain of the referral.
- Num Referrals: The number of referrals from this domain.
- Referrer: The name of the referrer.
- Orders Value: The value of the orders resulting from this group of referrals.
You can use the Search feature to search for referrals by domain. You can also expand Other Options to use the following filters:
- Date From: Use the calendar to select a start date.
- Date To: Use the calendar to select an end date.
- Exclude Known Referrers: Check this box to exclude all referrers that are known within the system. This allows you to find new referrals.
You can view all referrals (non-grouped) by clicking the View All Referrals button above the Search bar. This takes you back to the Referrals.aspx page.
Note that if the Application Setting called Enable Referrals (in the 'Technical Settings' grouping) is disabled, new referrals will not be recorded. You can also switch this setting on or off using the Referrals button at the top of the Referrals.aspx page – when disabled it appears as follows:
