IRP Commerce was delighted to work in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Accountants Ireland to host a seminar for its members called Understanding Ecommerce Reporting & Maximising Ecommerce Sales.
Teaming up with Argento, which uses the IRP ecommerce platform to sell to over 90 countries and Agency Export Technologies which provides the jewellery retailer with consultancy and online support, the audience heard insights, expert advice and the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of selling internationally online.
Argento was established in 1997 and initially sold its products from a small market stall in Belfast city centre. Fast forward almost 20 years and it is now a £40m turnover business, employing 500 plus people and selling into Hong Kong, Canada and Australia. The brand started selling online in 2009 and, with the right technology and a solid understanding of the jewellery market, it has become the global success it is today.
Founder and CEO of IRP Commerce, Daniel Loughlin, says:
“To succeed, a company must be ambitious, operationally capable, and be in a good market — this is why Argento has been such a successful brand. Like a retail store or any other selling format — ecommerce is just mathematically based. The big difference is that the online selling channel is more complex and intangible. Accountants are very well placed to understand ecommerce as it is a very numbers-driven environment”.
