Traffic Partners

Important: You should use the Traffic Partners and Traffic Sources sections of IRP Admin only in cooperation with your IRP Account Manager.

You can find this section under Orders Tracking > Traffic Partners in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.

You use this page to view and create Traffic Partners and link them with your Traffic Sources. Traffic Partners allow you to sub-divide Traffic Sources for each digital marketing channel. You may have many hundreds or thousands of Traffic Partners that use the IRP World channels.

The main TrafficPartners.aspx page appears as follows:

Traffic Partners page

You can use the Search bar to find any Traffic Partners in your system. Expand Other Options under the Search bar to use the following filters:

  • Active/InActive/Both: Check one of these boxes to find all Traffic Partners or only ones that are Active or Inactive in your IRP. ‘Active’ means that the IRP is tracking traffic that originates from the Traffic Partner.
  • Traffic Source: Select a Traffic Source from the drop-down list, or select ‘All Traffic Sources’.

The main grid shows the following details for each Traffic Partner:

  • ID: This is the unique ID of the Traffic Partner.
  • Active: This column indicates whether or not the IRP is actively tracking traffic that originates from the Traffic Partner.
  • Name: This is the name of the Traffic Partner, for example ‘Google AdWords UK’.
  • Traffic Source: This is the Traffic Source associated with the Traffic Partner, for example Google PPC.
  • Sales Total: This is the total value of the all-time orders generated by this Traffic Partner.
  • Total Transactions: This is the total number of transactions involving this Traffic Partner.
  • Sales Last 30 Days: This is the total value of sales generated by this Traffic Partner in the last 30 days.
  • Transactions Last 30 Days: This is the total number of transactions involving this Traffic Partner in the last 30 days.
  • Cost Per Click: This is the total cost per click of this Traffic Partner.
  • In: This is the number of referrals that the Traffic Partner has provided.
  • Out: This is the number of referrals that you have provided for this Traffic Partner.
  • Edit: Click this button to make changes to the Traffic Partner configuration. For details, see the How To Add or Edit a Traffic Partner article in this section.

At the top of the page you can see the following buttons:

  • Generate Link: Click this button to generate a Partner link. This will open a lightbox in which you can enter a URL to add the selected Partner ID to. You can then copy the processed link to the clipboard.
  • Traffic Sources: Click this button to go to the TrafficSources.aspx page where you can view the Traffic Sources stored on your IRP. For more details, see the Traffic Sources help topic.
  • No Source: Click this button to view Traffic Partners without an assigned Traffic Source. For more details, see the Traffic Sources help topic.
  • Add New Traffic Partner: Click this button to go to the TrafficPartnerEdit.aspx page where you can add new Traffic Partners. For more details, see the How To Add or Edit a Traffic Partner article in this section.
  • Show All Traffic Partners: Click this button to see all the Traffic Partners displayed on the grid on this page.

For more details, see the How To Add or Edit a Traffic Partner article in this section.

NOTE: After adding Traffic Partners you will need to append the Traffic Partner IDs to the end of your marketing URLs. For more details, see the How To Add Traffic Partner IDs To Marketing URLs article in this section.

Note also that you can use the Partner ID Expiry Time In Days Application Setting so that, if a customer comes through to a URL with a Partner ID attached, this setting defines the number of days before that Partner ID will expire from that customer's browser cookie.
