Additional Application Settings

You can also use the following Application Settings (see Interface Settings for more information):

  • Desktop PayPal Button: Upload a language-dependent PayPal button to display on the Basket and Checkout pages on the Desktop version of the site. Note that this image should be in .gif format. If no Translated version of this button exists for a particular language, the English button will be used as a default.

If no Translated version of this button exists for a particular language, the English button will be used as a default.

Placement of buttons on checkout pages

By default, the PayPal button appears above the Amazon Pay button on the Basket.aspx or MobileBasket.aspx page, however, you can control the order in which the buttons appear using the following CSS classes in the Website CSS Stylesheet:

  • .amazon-paypal-container
  • .amazon-paypal-container .paypal-basket
  • .amazon-paypal-container .paypal-login
  • .amazon-paypal-container .amazon-container
  • .amazon-paypal-container .paypal-container
  • .amazon-paypal-container .amazon-basket, .amazon-paypal-container .amazon-login

When a customer is on the Basket.aspx or MobileBasket.aspx page and clicks the button to proceed to the next stage of the checkout, the text that they see for the PayPal box is configurable using the following Small Translations:

  • 1005: This is the title PayPal.
  • 1243: The default English translation is: You can buy from us using your PayPal account. Login here and confirm your payment details with PayPal before returning to us.

Why do I see an error message when I select Pay By PayPal on a mobile?
This is likely to be because you have not set the Application Setting called ‘Pay Pal Express Checkout Redirect Url Mobile’ (also called ‘Express Checkout Redirect URL (Mobile Site)’). This defines the URL that the system will redirect to once the customer has started their PayPal checkout process on mobile devices.
