You can find this section under Search > Ignored Words in the IRP Admin left navigation menu.
This page displays a list of search terms that you want to be ignored if a customer searches for them using the front-end Search bar. Examples of these would include 'And' or 'At'. This would mean, for example, that when a site visitor searches using the Search bar at the top of the site for the phrase 'Hat And Umbrella' the database query will instead use 'Hat Umbrella'.
Foreign derivatives will be applied when a customer's Language Setting is different from the default.
You can use this section to view, add, edit and delete the Ignored Words. The SearchIgnoredWords.aspx page appears as follows:
You can see the following information:
- ID: This is the unique ID of this Ignored Word, generated by the IRP.
- Word: This is the Ignored Word itself.
- Delete: Click this button if you want to delete an Ignored Word, then click the large Delete Selected Ignored Words button at the top or bottom of the screen.
- Edit: Click this button to go to the SearchIgnoredWordEdit.aspx page where you can update or delete the Ignored Word. For more details, see the How to Add or Edit an Ignored Word topic in this section.
At the top of page you can see these buttons:
- Search History: Click this button to go to the SearchHistory.aspx page. See the Search History help topic for more information.
- Add New Ignored Word: Click this button to go to the SearchIgnoredWordEdit.aspx page where you can add a new Ignored Word. For more details, see the How to Add or Edit an Ignored Word topic in this section.
